Hugo Laurencena is an Argentinian hyperrealist painter. It is hard to tell when the paintings are not in context, but Laurencena's works are very large formats and that is where the interest lies. Yes, his subjects, mostly usual and simple objects, are painted in such a precise and faultless way that they feel real. But they are blown up to such surreal sizes that the feeling left is admiration and wonderment.
