Harry C. Doolittle
Harry C. Doolittle does abstract assemblages of glass, brass and aluminium leaf and acrylic on canvas. He cuts designs into canvas board which become the base of the artwork. Many of the designs he carves are repeated in glass. Some glass pieces are painted on the underside with acrylic colors. Other glass pieces have gold or silver leaf applied underneath. The top of the glass remains smooth, shiny and becomes very reflective.
Harry C. Doolittle was born in CHicago in 1923. He gratuated from Notherwestern University. He is a self-taught artist.
