Damien Weighill

Damien Weighill is an illustrator that has a lot of humour. He also has a blog, where you send him a picture of yourself, he makes a drawing of you with it, and then posts this drawing on his blog. This is his explanation for it : «Real people don't read your blog.

A fact that I wasn't made aware of when I signed up for these things; It now seems so obvious.

If you are reading this and you do happen to be a real person then why not send me a photo (one which includes your real face) and I will draw a picture of you and post it here to serve as everlasting proof that sometimes facts are wrong»

So... if you want, send him a picture!!!

Matthew Woodson

Matthew Woodson is an illustrator. This is Matthew Woodson's blog. I like his blog because he dosen't really talk about his final drawings, but more about his process, the work itself, the questions and difficulties of getting it done. And I have to say it is kind of reassuring to read about his insecurities... than I feel like I'm am not the only one who fears to fuck up a drawing by putting color on it or that I'm not the only one who fears perspective! And when I look at the work of really good illustrators, I always think that it is soooo easy for them... so... thanks Matthew Woodson!

By the way, Matthew Woodson has a beautiful website too!

Damian Hirst's skull... the exhibition of the year!?!

Jonathan Jones signs an article in The Guardian Unlimited that has a very interesting point of view on contemporary art. Personnally, I REALLY don't agree with him, but I am happy to understand what the defenders of real contemporary art are thinking... what they see in a pile of shit in a corner. Jonathan Jones defends Damian Hirst's skull, even calling it the exhibition of the year!?! You have to read the article, but you really have to read the most interesting part of it, which is the respond and comments from readers at the bottom... It feels like not a lot of people agree with Jones's point of view...
