SARA NAIM /// BEETHOVEN - Moonlight Sonata

This body of work looks at translating sound into a photographic image. Ludwig Van Beethoven’s sonata vibrates through milk. He composed this piece in the early 1800’s for his blind pupil and lover, Giuletta Gucciardi. Gucciardi said to Beethoven that she wished she could see the moonlight. Beethoven then composed a piece about the moonlight’s reflection off Austria’s Lake Lucerne, called Moonlight Sonata.

MARK MAWSON

MARK MAWSON /// AQUEOUS (Paint in water photo series)

MARK MAWSON grew up in Newark, Nottinghamshire, England and was enchanted by photography from a young age. At the age of 8 he was given his first camera to which never left his side, taking stills of all the curiosities that surrounded childhood. Moving to London he worked his way up; The Times, Sunday Times, The Daily Mail, Mail On Sunday and Today.

A change of scenery and pace was next found in Sydney where he moved in 2001. Whilst continuing to push boundaries with advertising and portraiture, he managed to explore more personal projects. This includes the Aqueous series which he has continued working on since 2005, and since sold to many private collections around the world.

Mark is currently based between London, France & Sydney.
