Luke Haynes

Luke Haynes paints murals in cloth, assembles mosaics from fabric. His quilts do not belong on the bed. They are works of art for you to wrap yourself in during waking hours.

Luke Haynes’s innovative pieces reconstruct half-remembered dreams, coaxing hazy morning memories into woven images.

His work is available for show, purchase, or commission.

Luke Haynes was born and raised across the American South. After formal training in art and architecture at Cooper Union, New York, Luke Haynes began experimenting with quilting art.

A chance encounter with a box of fabric remnants sparked Mr. Haynes’ imagination. His first quilt, measuring 7′ x 10′, led him through years of experimentation and improvements.

Subverting the traditional quilting form by integrating modern concepts, his art transforms the comfortably familiar. Further honing his style, Mr. Haynes developed a system to piece manageable parts into a larger whole, applying a modern design sense to a familiar process.(Luke Haynes)
